Linked Basketball Arcade Machine: A Buyer’s Acceptance Guide
Plan a linked basketball arcade purchase around moving-hoop play, ball return, score registration, compatible cabinets, service access and a witnessed acceptance test.
Buy the linked basketball experience as one configuration
A linked basketball arcade machine suits a venue that wants repeatable shooting rounds and competition between adjacent stations. The purchasing decision is whether the moving hoop, ball supply, scoring and linked session work together in the quoted build. A cabinet that completes a solo round has not yet demonstrated a working competitive row.
The manufacturer describes the planning reference with four stages, moving hoops and separate solo and linked-play start controls. Keep those features in the requested configuration and ask for an uninterrupted demonstration. Confirm the stage rules and what happens when a player fails to advance; do not infer the complete game sequence from changing lights or a final high score.
Turn the tall cabinet into an installation plan
The supplier-listed reference measures W41 × D100 × H105 inches. Those figures describe that cabinet, not the shooting position, ceiling clearance or service envelope. Request a current drawing for the offered unit showing the upper guard, moving-hoop envelope, open access panels and any parts removed for delivery. Do not use a shorter packed height as an installed height.
Draw the player stance and ball-recovery route in front of each station. Add waiting space without directing spectators through the shooting position. Check the route from unloading to the final row, including turns and overhead obstructions. Ask who reassembles the cabinet, checks the hoop mechanism and confirms readiness after installation.
Specify the linked row before ordering cables
The manufacturer advertises linking up to 18 units for its reference system. That is not confirmation that any 18 basketball machines can connect. State the number you actually intend to operate together and obtain a compatible hardware, software and cabling schedule for that row. Include any connecting hardware and configuration work in the quotation.
Ask how each station is identified, how players join and when a linked round starts. Demonstrate unequal arrival times, a player choosing solo mode and a station unavailable for play using the approved procedure. Observe the effect on the remaining stations. Retain the accepted software versions and settings; a cable that fits a socket does not prove communication compatibility.
Accept scoring, return and reset in the same test
Identify the approved basketball specification and operating quantity before the demonstration. Record ball condition and the starting stock at each lane. Ask the supplier to show how a made basket is detected and how missed shots return. Keep ordinary game testing separate from any technician diagnostic used to identify an input.
Agree the test sequence below before inspection. Record the actual observations and unresolved exceptions rather than accepting only a successful winning clip.

| Test stage | Observe together | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Solo round | Credit, ball release, hoop movement, score and final reset | Unit identity, settings and continuous cycle record |
| Stage transition | Result that triggers the next stage and the new hoop behavior | Agreed game rules and the observed transition |
| Linked session | Joining stations, start timing, individual scores and final result | Station map, versions and compatible connection schedule |
| Ball availability | Return path and stock ready for the next game | Approved ball sample, operating count and interventions |
| Exception recovery | Supplier-approved unavailable-station or incomplete-game scenario | Credit outcome, operator action and return-to-play check |
This is a proposed buyer inspection plan, not a completed test or a universal timing tolerance.
Match payment and player instructions to the venue
Specify the destination currency, token or card provider and the exact reader interface requested. Demonstrate that accepted credit starts the selected solo or linked experience. Ask who resolves a deducted credit when a station does not join, and where the operator can see the event. A linked score display does not establish payment reconciliation.
Review the language and the distinction between the two start choices from the normal player position. Confirm what new players see while waiting for opponents. Keep any reward or ticket option separate unless it is explicitly included and demonstrated for the quoted configuration.
Price the parts that keep a basketball row available
Request identifiers for the balls, net, hoop assembly, scoring components, return-path parts and fitted movement drive. Ask which checks staff can perform and which replacements require a technician. Obtain the approved cleaning and ball-care instructions; do not borrow pressure values or intervals from another basketball game.
For several stations, keep the serial number and installed revision with the spare list. Confirm access to a failed station without dismantling neighboring cabinets. Ask what remote support can diagnose, who performs physical repairs and how labor, parts and international shipping are priced under the agreed support terms.
Freeze customization, packing and the quotation together
Brand and function customization is typically available for orders of around 10–20 machines. Send artwork and the behavior you want changed, together with quantity by configuration. This is a typical project size, not a fixed minimum or confirmation that different models can be combined toward it. Smaller standard-machine inquiries remain welcome.
Confirm the supported changes, cost, approval sample and tests before production. A change to game rules or station communication should reopen the affected acceptance checks. Request separate pricing for cabinets, payment equipment, linking hardware, balls, spares, customization, packing and delivery. Obtain actual package counts, dimensions, weights and assembly instructions before freight booking.
Buyer FAQ
Can different basketball cabinet versions share one linked row? Only when the supplier confirms their compatibility and demonstrates the proposed combination. Similar screens or connectors are insufficient.
Is cabinet height enough to approve the site? No. Check overhead fixtures, guards, player movement, service access and the delivery route against the drawing for the ordered build.
What should accompany the first inquiry? Send the planned station count, destination, measured space, solo-versus-linked use, payment provider and opening window. Ask for the configuration schedule and acceptance sequence with the quotation.
