Plan cups around the accepted sample

Shaved ice vending machine cup capacity depends on the accepted sample and usable magazine load. The supplier catalog lists approximately 70 paper cups, but the exact cup format is unresolved. Evaluate the intended cup and recipe together before setting refill quantities.

Keep the cup product code, geometry, nesting, packaging and lot with the supplier-led serving demonstration. Material documents go into the destination review. The accepted sample links that review and the load count to the cups actually ordered.

Calculate stock coverage

Cup coverage under a stated scenario = usable cup load ÷ cups consumed per operating hour. Include cups consumed by rejected or interrupted cycles when pilot records are available. Put the result beside ingredient and documented service requirements; the earliest relevant visit determines attendance.

Record the demonstrated low-cup indication and customer behavior when stock is unavailable, including any sale pause. Pair that state with a refill owner and physical stock record so the team knows what to do when the signal appears.

  • Sample: cup code; lot; accepted geometry; magazine configuration.
  • Stock: actual usable load; reserve quantity/location; remaining count.
  • Use: completed servings; rejected cups; interruption use; operating hours.
  • Visit: ingredient/service requirement; refill owner; stock indication; physical verification.
  • Order: supply lead time; pack size; stated reserve assumption.

Compare two hypothetical periods

Assume an illustrative trial establishes 60 usable cups with a particular sample. At an assumed 10 cups per hour, coverage is six hours before reserve or additional losses. At 15 cups per hour, it is four hours. These are hypothetical planning scenarios.

Compare both with the ingredient plan and supplier service process. A larger cup reserve changes stock coverage; it does not extend an ingredient-handling interval. This keeps the service visit tied to the complete operation.

Include refill access and repeat supply

Observe the permitted refill task and record when sales pause, how staff approach the magazine and when the unit is ready again. A venue may have adequate cup stock yet an awkward front-access refill during its busiest queue. Layout or visit timing can be adjusted using that observation.

Preserve the accepted cup specification in bulk orders and record changes to rim, material or nesting. A new sample can change both feeding and loaded count, so update the refill worksheet after the relevant supplier evaluation.
